Ready to pick your classes?

With the help of the academic advising staff, planning your class schedule and discovering more about your major is a breeze. We can help make sure your classes meet all the requirements necessary to graduate on time.

Follow the steps below to get the most out of your advising appointment. If you are a graduate student, you'll be assigned an advisor based on your academic program. To find your faculty advisor, go to Ramlink.

  1. Look for courses

    See what prerequisite courses you need to take and the order you need to take them. Use any of the forms or course guides below to help you plan your schedule.

  2. Plan your schedule

    Plan a tentative schedule of the classes you want to take. Include the section number, days of the week and time. Don't forget to consider if you

    • Are a commuter student
    • Are an athlete
    • Have a job
  3. Schedule an appointment with your advisor

    Look for an email from Academic Advising requesting you schedule an advising appointment. To make your appointment as productive as possible, bring your ideas of classes you would like to take for the next semester. It's a good idea to fill out any forms you need during advising to speed up the registration process later. Want to speak with your advisor directly? We can help.

  4. Register for class

    You've done all the legwork. It's time to register for classes. You'll sign up for your classes on a specified date each semester. Registration will also take place in the Academic Advising center.

    It's a good rule to visit your advisor at least once a semester, but it's even better to visit more regularly. Your advisor will help you stay on track to meet the requirements you need to graduate and do it on time.

    Don't forget to fill out your Request for Enrollment at Another University, if you plan on taking classes outside of Texas Wesleyan.
