Help TXWES celebrate Project Search May 16 and 25
Project Search is in its fifth year at Texas Wesleyan University and is looking forward to many more. Join us for a few exciting events celebrating our campus partner and their dedicated interns.
May 16: Supervisors Appreciation Luncheon
All Project Search supporters and supervisors are invited to an appreciation luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the Baker Building. This is our way of saying “thank you” for another wonderful year. We’ll serve lunch and pass out “Helping Hand Awards” to each intern’s supervisor.
May 25: Project Search Graduation
Our interns are graduating! Join us at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Baker Building, to congratulate all Project Search interns who will complete the program. Not only are our interns graduating from the program, they’ll also receive their high school diplomas.
About Project Search
Project Search is a national high school transition program on campus that helps students with disabilities gain employment. The program is a partnership between Fort Worth ISD, Goodwill, the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation Services (DARS) and Texas Wesleyan University.
“The magic of this program is in the relationship building between the student interns and the faculty and staff at Texas Wesleyan, the on-the-job training and positive role models” Christina Schlueter, Project Search vocational adjustment coordinator, said. “Students leave Project Search confident, successful and independent.”
