What is 3PR?

The M.D. Anderson Pre-Professional Program (3PR) is a unique program that has been a part of Texas Wesleyan University for over 30 years. It is open to all majors and assists students with the multi-step admissions process for graduate or professional school. This includes but is not limited to: law school, medical school, dental school, counseling programs and psychology programs. 

What does 3PR do?

The 3PR faculty and staff will assist students with the multi-step application process for graduate and professional schools. Assistance includes but is not limited to: personal statements, mock interviews, testing strategies and program research. Students of 3PR will receive individualized educational and career information about medical, dental, legal, ministerial, clinical and professional counseling as well as other professional programs. 

What does 3PR offer?

In addition to regular class meetings, the 3PR program offers the following opportunities for students:

 

  • Panels and Plenaries featuring local professionals, admissions personnel, current graduate students and subject matter experts.
  • Test Fest offered every semester featuring free practice entrance exams: GRE, GMAT, MCAT and LSAT
  • Mock interviews
  • Participation in University College Day
  • Assistance setting up relevant accounts (LSAC, etc)

 

What are the requirements to join 3PR?

There is no cumulative credit hour requirement to join 3PR. Students can join at any time during their academic career at Texas Wesleyan. There is a GPA requirement of a 3.0 but each student is evaluated individually. For eligibility questions, please contact the program Co-Directors. 

What majors can be in 3PR?

Your academic major is not a determining factor for 3PR admittance. The program is designed for students who will be attending graduate or professional school after receiving their bachelor's degree. 

Are students required to take all 3PR courses?

Students are not required to take all 3PR courses. The program is designed to be flexible to fit students' needs. 

How do you register for 3PR?

During advising, you will need to speak with their advisor regarding interest in 3PR. The advisor can add the course to your schedule. All relevant courses for the semester will be listed in Ramlink.
