Research Interests/Scholastic Profile

My main research interest is integrating technology in classroom instruction. I am also interested in using video reflections to improve teaching practice, particularly with pre-service teachers. Other research interests are co-teaching with pre-service teachers, literacy instruction, and doctoral degree completion.

I am originally from Minnesota, but I began my elementary teaching career in California. I met my husband, Kevin, in California, where he was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base. Thanks to the Air Force, I have had the opportunity to teach in many places, including Korea, Germany, and Hawaii. I started teaching full time at Texas Wesleyan University in 2010. My husband and I  have two children, Christian and Hollyn, and a dog named Lacey. We really enjoy our family time, especially exploring new restaurants, cooking, camping, playing family games, and traveling.
