Admission Requirements

How long does it take?

After you turn in your requirements, we'll be able to review your application and see which scholarship you qualify for. We'll mail you a decision letter in one to two weeks.

What are the requirements?

24 Credit Hours or More 

  • All college transcripts 
  • A GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale 

Fewer Than 24 Credit Hours 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • All college transcripts 
  • combined college and high school GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale 

Academic programs may have additional requirements for entrance, and students are subject to review by the dean of the appropriate school for admission approval.

What are the GED requirements?

If you have fewer than 24 college credit hours and did not graduate from high school, you'll need an average score of 500 on the GED exam. Once you've taken the test, mail a copy of the GED certificate and the official report of test with your application.

What if I don't meet the criteria?

If you don't meet the requirements, you can start the process for your application to be reviewed by the faculty committee.

You must submit the following items to your admissions counselor:

  • A personal essay about why attending Texas Wesleyan would be beneficial for you
  • At least two letters of recommendation

You have the option of:

  • Submitting a copy of your résumé
  • Participating in a personal interview with your admissions counselor

    Once you have turned in your paperwork, your file will be sent to the committee for review.
