Texas Wesleyan University has named Jerri Schooley its new vice president of advancement. In her role, Schooley will lead the University’s strategic fundraising initiatives.

"I am so excited that Jerri Schooley will be rejoining the Texas Wesleyan team,” President Frederick G. Slabach said. “Jerri has the passion and skills to help the university move forward on all fronts.  Jerri previously served as the university’s associate vice president for advancement, and because she knows us so well, she has hit the ground running.  Jerri will help us all focus on our true mission — the students and future alumni of Texas Wesleyan."

Schooley has been a fundraising professional for over twenty-four years. Throughout her career, she has held key leadership positions as the Associate Vice President for University Advancement at Texas Wesleyan University, Assistant Vice President for Major Gifts at Texas A&M Health Science Center, and Associate Vice President for Development at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Schooley is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Prior to joining UT Arlington, she served as Executive Vice President for the J.F. Smith Group, an independent fundraising consulting firm. Over her twelve-year consulting career, she worked with numerous not-for-profit organizations, including secondary and higher education institutions, providing on-going fundraising counsel as well as managing feasibility studies and capital campaigns.

"Because I am a first-generation college graduate from a small, private, faith-based college, I understand and believe strongly in Texas Wesleyan's "Smaller. Smarter." mission,” Schooley said. “It is a privilege to work on a team of faculty and staff who are committed to providing our students with a learning environment where they not only learn, but thrive."
