Payment FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Texas Wesleyan is excited to offer a new payment system that will offer more options making it easier to make payments on student accounts. Students will see their payments on their accounts immediately. No matter what time you process the payment, it will be viewable on your student statement within seconds. Payment plans will offer the ability to schedule monthly installments for the day you want your payment to be made and the ability to pay using more than one credit card as payment. Payment plan payments will also be able to be viewed within 24 hours on the student statement.

To provide this service, the convenience fees will be paid by the payor. Credit card fees will be 2.5% with a minimum charge of $2.95 and e-checks will have a charge of $1.00. This cost is less than most universities are able to have. You will have the ability to see the cost prior to making the actual payment and the charge will be viewable on your credit card statements.

Is there a fee to pay my bill online?

There is a service fee if you pay by debit or credit card. The fee is 2.75% of the amount being paid and is added to your debit or credit card, with a minimum charge of $3. There is a charge of $1 for e-checks.

How will I know how much the service fee is?

The fee is viewable as a separate amount on the receipt and will be viewable on your credit card statement as a separate charge.

Why is a service fee charged?

Texas Wesleyan University is partnering with Transact to offer online one-time and automatic monthly payments. The service fee covers the cost of processing the payment transaction and the security compliance and certifications requirements that ensure the protection of sensitive and personal consumer data. Texas Wesleyan does not receive any part of the service fee.

Why can’t I see the service fee charge on my student account?

The service fee is assessed by Transact, not Texas Wesleyan, and covers the cost of processing credit and debit card payments.

Do I have to pay online?

You can also pay in-person* at the Cashier’s Office or send a check for payment to:

Texas Wesleyan University
1205 Wesleyan St.
Fort Worth, Texas, 76105

What credit cards can I use to pay student account charges?

You may make payments with American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and JCB.

Is the service fee refundable?

The 2.75% service fee is non-refundable. Any service fee disputes must be taken directly to your credit card company.

What if I make a credit card payment for more than I owe on my student account?

Texas Wesleyan is required to refund any overpayments made by credit card back to the credit card company. The service fee will not be refunded for the portion overpaid.
