Southeast Fort Worth, Inc. (SEFWI) honored Texas Wesleyan University with the organization's Blueprint Award at their annual awards luncheon on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel.

The Blueprint Award celebrates organizations that have made a positive impact in Southeast Fort Worth and the Fort Worth economy through job growth, innovation and expansion.

"Based on the award criteria, Texas Wesleyan stood out because the University and the officials made a conscious effort to stay in this district at a time when the district itself was facing a lot challenges," said Stacy E. Marshall, executive director of SEFWI.

"They worked with SEFWI to focus on improving the University, creating a springboard to better the environment surrounding the University."

Driven by the 2020 Vision

Texas Wesleyan's contributions to the vitality of southeast Fort Worth are directly linked to the execution of the University's 2020 Vision strategic plan, including the $6.5-million Rosedale Renaissance project scheduled for completion in October.

"The revitalization of Texas Wesleyan is bringing real, lasting change to the Southeast Fort Worth region," said President Frederick G. Slabach. "The Rosedale Renaissance is the first step of our ongoing efforts to create a hub for critical thinkers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area."

In addition to Texas Wesleyan's impact on development, SEFWI also recognizes the University's professionalism, commitment to the community and its economy, and role as a catalyst in education, innovation and community growth.

"The University has expended a greater outlook for the many students at Polytechnic High School," said Marshall. "Students now can look down the road and see their future through the eyes of the University that's in their backyard."
