Join the Upward Bound Programs at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, in the Science Lecture Theatre for its second robotics competition. All Texas Wesleyan faculty and staff are invited to attend and watch as five student teams put their robots to the test.

The competition is part of an Upward Bound Programs robotics summer class taught by Diamond Hill High School’s Walter Parada. Along with robotics, Texas Wesleyan Upward Bound Programs offers other classes including math, science, English, research (career and biology) and music appreciation.

The Upward Bound Programs serve 9th through 12th-grade students from Polytechnic, Diamond Hill, North Side and Dunbar High Schools in FWISD. The goal of the program is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
