Texas Wesleyan students take tour of Gainesville State School
On Sept. 21, students from Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology and Education participated in a special opportunity to go behind the walls of the Gainesville State School, the nation's largest juvenile punishment facility.
Students toured the facility, and met with staff and a resident. Thirty students took part in this event with several indicating the tour had given them a strong sense of the academic area they wanted to focus their studies.
While the tour is primarily for the CRJ 2316: Corrections and Community Supervision class, it is open to other students as well.
