DNAP anesthesia curriculum coordinator joins strategic planning team

Paul N. Austin, CRNA, Ph.D., participated in the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) Strategic Planning Conference, held at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences on Sept. 10 and 11 in Bethesda, Md. 

Dr. Austin is the Coordinator of Anesthesia Curriculum, Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program at Texas Wesleyan. He was part of the team of nurse scientists reviewing TSRNP’s mission, goals and research priorities. He is also a scientific reviewer for TSNRP.

TSNRP is the only program funding and supporting rigorous scientific research in the field of military nursing. The program seeks to advance military nursing science and optimize the health of military members and their families.

Since its founding in 1992, TSNRP has funded more than 300 grants totaling over $53 million, resulting in research published in more than 60 peer-reviewed journals. The annual budget of TSNRP is currently $6 million.
