Gwen holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics and a Master of Science in Learning Technology/Information Systems in Educational Computing from Texas A&M – Commerce.

Gwen has been in the CETL for 5 years. She spent 30 years in in the public school system as a Computer Science teacher, Math teacher, Technology Coordinator, Network Administrator and Instructional Technologies. She also has written curriculum for instructional technology and has provided training across the country in Technology Integration. Currently she does consulting in course design and reviews online courses across the country.

 

Gwen’s philosophy of teaching is based on a belief that learning needs to be student centered and students need to be equal partners in the learning process.

“My role involves using my expertise to put the necessary resources in the hands of the faculty and students to ensuring that all students are well equipped to find and evaluate the resources they need to answer their questions. Every classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies not only in abilities, but also in learning styles. My role as an instructional leader is to give students/faculty the tools with which to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge.”
