Texas Wesleyan history majors Jodie Holmes and Ravion Shephard were awarded book scholarships for the upcoming academic year from two National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) chapters: the NSDAR Six Flags and NSDAR Mary Isham Keith chapters.

Ravion was presented with the award at the meeting of the Mary Isham Keith Chapter on March 6, and Jodie received the award at the Six Flags Chapter meeting on May 3. Both meetings were held at the Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth.

Upon accepting her award from the Six Flags Chapter, Jodie spoke of the importance of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in furthering the task of accurately telling the story of the United States.

These two generous Fort Worth NSDAR chapters annually give scholarships in the spring to outstanding female history students.  For more information about the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, visit https://www.dar.org/
