BGS's Food Truck Week - 2017

While Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society at Wesleyan, discussed fundraising opportunities for their organization, President Mary Boysen suggested BGS host a food truck week.

By hosting a food truck week, the honor society would raise funds to support their organization while providing a fresh dining experience for the students, faculty, and staff on campus.

It has now been four semesters since BGS first hosted a food truck week and with each semester the three-four day event gains more popularity.

This semester food truck week took place November 13-16 with the following food trucks on campus:

  • The Islander
  • Down to Earth
  • Egg Stand
  • Beef Eater Grill
  • Dough Boy Donuts

The popularity of the food trucks on campus caused the fundraiser to be a huge success.  The honor society raised enough money to host several business workshops next semester.

Stephanie Varuska, treasurer of BGS, hopes the fundraiser continues to be used by future members.

“The food trucks have proved to be the major fundraising event for our organization,” Varuska said, “We hope to make food truck week a tradition!”
