Beta Gamma Sigma student awarded Honor Roll Scholarship

Texas Wesleyan’s Beta Gamma Sigma honor society chapter has received Highest Honors Chapters status and was awarded an Honor Roll Scholarship. The Honor Roll Scholarship awards a single student registration to the 2017 Global Leadership Summit, held Nov. 2-5 in Orlando, Florida.

The chapter’s officers and faculty advisors held a vote to choose the recipient of the scholarship. Member Haidar Almahrouq’s active presence in the chapter and willingness to go the extra mile won him the chapter's vote and the Honor Roll Scholarship.

By attending, Almahrouq will have the opportunity to work with a team of student leaders and receive advice from leaders in multiple work fields: academic, corporate, and nonprofit.

Dr. Heida Reed, visiting professor of business administration, hopes Almahrouq benefits from the summit.

“Hopefully he will come back with a great understanding of the organization and how it will play a role in his future employment,” Reed, said. “We [Beta Gamma Sigma advisors] also expect that he will share what he learned with our members.”
