Get involved in the world of finance outside of the classroom

Extracurricular activities not only boost your resume — they boost your chances of getting your foot in the door even earlier. You’ll be able to meet new people and network while you’re in school, which can give you a leg up on internships and job opportunities. When you pair strong extracurriculars with a finance degree from Texas Wesleyan, you'll be on the fast track to success.

Explore a foreign country while completing your finance degree

Want to get a front row seat to how business works overseas? A study abroad trip might be your ticket. From learning how international businesses work together to help keep the economy flowing to immersing yourself in history and culture, you’ll have plenty of ways to get out of the classroom and into a whole new world. (No magic carpet needed!) Bonus — you don’t have to wait on us to take a trip. We partner with a few different organizations to give you even more opportunities.

Get involved with an on-campus group to help build your network and your resume

Want to know what it’s like to be a financial professional after college? Join the Finance Club. You’ll learn from the experts in the field and gain insight into the day-to-day life of the financial world. And by networking, you can get tips and tricks from the professionals on how to land a job — or better yet, you might even land one working with them!

Join the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society

Boost your resume with the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. It’s an international society for the best of the best business students in AACSB accredited schools (TXWES is one of only 5% of the world's business programs with that prestigious accreditation). As a member, you’ll get to network with fellow students, see special internship opportunities and gain access to free member-only resources to level -up your career.

Look for internships while you’re still in school

Get real-world work experience as an intern. Not only will it provide you with even more skills and a shinier resume, but it may also open the (office) door to a full-time job at that company. And Texas Wesleyan’s Career Services can help you land a job with career mentoring, resume help, mock interviewing and more.
