About Professor Dehdashti

After having a pleasant experience teaching at the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Dehdashti was excited when the opportunity to teach at Wesleyan was given to him. Having lived in the DFW area for more than 5 years now, he had become quite familiar with Wesleyan and was intrigued by the university’s “smaller, smarter” motto.

“Having been teaching various courses for about 12 years, I know that the small class size allows for a more individual treatment of the students. As well as, a better understanding of their capabilities to help them reach their vision in life.”

In the classroom, Dr. Dehdashti is very energetic and encourages students to engage in the day to day lessons. His class format includes traditional PowerPoint lectures, group activities, mini-cases, role plays, case studies, and experiential projects.

“I am hoping that whatever they are trying to get out of a course in my class is going to fit into their grand scheme.”

In addition to teaching, Dr. Dehdashti chose a career in academia because of the research side of it. His research interest is in donations and helping behavior. Currently, he is researching crowdfunded donations and the role of the social media. He is also doing research in the realm of cadaveric organ donations.
