

Dr. Mordecai is a dedicated clinician-educator with over 12 years of clinical experience in anesthesiology, managing high-acuity cases across neuro-trauma, cardiovascular, ENT, and obstetric specialties. Early in her career, she discovered a passion for teaching and took on the role of clinical advisor to nurse-anesthesia residents in the operating room. During her doctoral training, she also completed additional coursework in educational administration, seamlessly integrating clinical practice
Since joining Texas Wesleyan University in 2023, Dr. Mordecai has balanced her clinical responsibilities with curriculum design and hands-on instruction, emphasizing learner-centered, experiential education. She guides students using simulation-based learning, structured feedback, and mentorship to foster clinical competence and critical thinking.
As an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA), Dr. Mordecai participates in continuing education, networking opportunities, and community and university service initiatives, representing the profession in both academic and outreach settings.
In addition to her professional commitments, Dr. Mordecai is a proud mother of two young children, and she brings her experiences as a parent into her work, modeling balance, empathy, and resilience to her students and colleagues.
