Texas Wesleyan has contacted state and territory licensing authorities to confirm that its programs meet the education requirements leading to professional licensure. Other requirements may include professional certification exams, background checks and work experience, among others.
While Texas Wesleyan will update the information here every May, requirements can change throughout the year. If you intend to practice outside of Texas, you should contact the appropriate licensing authority to verify whether Texas Wesleyan's programs meet licensure requirements before enrolling.

*Most states have policies in place to improve reciprocity for educators. However, very few states provide full reciprocity. Additional requirements for full certification may or may not include verification of successful completion of our Educator Preparation Program, passing the state’s required certifying exams and/or completion of State required additional coursework. Professional licensure requirements vary by location and disclosures to students are required when a program does not meet the requirements within the student’s location. Determining student location is important to ensure Texas Wesleyan’s compliance with federal and state regulations requiring the University to disclose state-specific professional licensure information to students based on where they are located.
A student’s location is defined as the place in which a student is currently living (e.g. current address) at the time of enrollment in a professional or occupational licensure or certification program, not the student’s state of residency.
Students may notify Texas Wesleyan University of a change in their location by changing their student record current address information. Students may change their current address information by completing the Student Address and Name Change Form and submitting it to the Office of Student Records (Registrar) in one of the following ways:
For more information on student record information, please visit the Office of the Registrar’s website.
