Research Interests

Dr. Robles-Goodwin's research interests center on educational issues affecting English Language Learners, especially Latino students and their families: young children, biliteracy issues, and diversity teaching and training. She is also interested in the administrative experiences of Latinas in public schools. Her current research centers on the experiences (teaching and cultural) of Latino educators recruited to the US to work with students in dual language classrooms in the United States.

Dr. Patsy J. Robles-Goodwin is Professor of Education and Director for Bilingual/ESL Programs at Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth, Texas. She is a former elementary bilingual/ESL teacher and school administrator. She enjoys traveling the world learning about history, culture, and the schooling experiences. The yearly study abroad trips have included: Ecuador/ Galapagos, Peru, Spain, and hopefully Italy. These traveling experiences are incorporated into her teaching and research. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.
