Greg Phillips took full advantage of his time at TXWES and was very involved on campus. He was a reporter for The Rambler, member of Alpha Chi, member of Golden Shears, Student Association President, and even earned the title of Mr. TWC – just to name a few. After graduating from Texas Wesleyan University, Greg completed his MD degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, then his internal medicine residency at St Louis Medical School.  He was a fellow in Clinical Nutrition at the University of California, Davis prior to his returning to Fort Worth in 1979 to start his practice of Internal Medicine.

Greg has served on the Academic Affairs and Student Life Committees of the board; on search committees for senior academic administrators; worked with members of the development department on securing funding for the DNA sequencer and the scholarship honoring the career of Dr. Bobby Deaton.

Greg has two children—a son, Lauren, a graduate of TWU who is beginning his masters work in Architecture at Rice University; a daughter, Karen, executive director of Words Without Borders, a non-profit agency based in Brooklyn, New York.
