Congratulations to Cade Gordon, one of four recipients of the 2025-26 Alumni Legacy Scholarship! Cade is a junior Sports Communications major and this is his second year to receive this scholarship. 

What inspired you to pursue your field of study?

I have always been involved in sports. I want to continue to be involved in sports, but I don’t want to coach. My goal is to announce professional football games.

What’s one skill you’ve gained at TXWES that you think will serve you well in the future?

I have learned the skill of communication. Communication, especially as a sports com major, is one of the most important skills that I have learned here at TXWES.

What’s been your most memorable experience at TXWES so far?

My most memorable experience at TXWES so far is when we won conference last season in football.

How would you describe the TXWES community in three words?

Strong, Welcoming, Connected

Do you have a favorite spot on campus where you like to spend time?

I love to spend time in the PUMC chapel during our weekly chapel services.

If you could say one thing to the donors who made your scholarship possible, what would it be?

I would say thank you so much for the opportunity you have provided to me and students alike. Your generous donation has allowed me to pursue my dreams and get a great education from the best university.
