
FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Wesleyan University is proud to announce the launch of its 135th anniversary celebration for the 2025–26 academic year, commemorating more than a century of academic excellence, community engagement and regional impact. The celebration also recognizes the university’s legacy as Fort Worth’s first higher education institution. Founded in 1890, Texas Wesleyan has grown into a leading university known for student success, and long-standing contributions to the region’s economy and workforce.
Throughout the year, the university will host a series of events, recognitions and campus-wide initiatives honoring its history while unveiling its next strategic plan—laying the groundwork for another 135 years of innovation and impact.
Under the theme, “135 Years: Celebrating the Past, Igniting the Future,” the university aims to honor its legacy while continuing to prepare students for meaningful careers and civic leadership across all industries.
