03.04.2014 | By:

With spring weather upon us, and the ongoing importance of being prepared for emergency situations, Campus Security will be hosting training sessions for all faculty and staff immediately following spring break.

The University is requiring that all faculty and staff members attend one of the sessions, all of which will be held in the Science Lecture Theatre in the McFadden Building. Four sessions are being offered for convenience.

Select a date and register for a session today:

  • Tuesday, March 18, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 19, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 20, 4 – 5 p.m.
  • Monday, March 24, 4 -5 p.m.

Each session will teach faculty and staff members how to be ready for and react in a variety of potential campus emergencies. Some of the situations include:

  • Severe weather
  • Fire
  • Weapons
  • Medical emergencies

Blake Bumbard, head of Campus Security, will present each hour-long training session. Other topics include how to respond in an active shooter or hostage situation, evacuation procedures and utilities information.
