Maximum accreditation awarded to GPNA by COA

01.20.2012 | By:

The Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia were granted a 10-year, unrestricted re-accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs in October 2011. The accreditation is the result of the hard work and educational excellence of the GPNA faculty and staff.

Accreditation for nurse anesthesia educational programs was initiated in 1952. The current accrediting body is the COA.

All nurse anesthesia programs must be accredited, which serves to improve the quality of nurse anesthesia education and ensure the competency of practicing CRNAs. Graduation from an accredited program is a prerequisite of eligibility for national certification.
