Texas Wesleyan University’s Theatre Wesleyan begins their season with Lycanthrope an original play by alumnus Chuck Fain. The show will be presented in the Thad Smotherman Theatre in the Law Sone Fine Arts Building located on the Texas Wesleyan campus at the corner of Binkley St. and Avenue E.  Performances will be Sept. 29 to Oct. 9. Thursday through Saturday performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. with one Sunday performance at 2 p.m. Oct. 9.

Lycanthrope tells the story of an unprecedented outbreak that forces a group of strangers to take cover from the ravenous beasts trying to eat them alive. Finding shelter in a maintenance shed at the county fairgrounds they are temporarily safe from the monsters outside, but not from each other.

Lycanthrope is directed by Connie Whitt-Lambert, professor of theatre, and assisted by Jovan Rodriguez, senior theatre major. The show features Wesleyan students Spencer Baker, Allen Dean, Patricia Howard, Jessica LaVilla, Emily Newcomb, Elizabeth Parker, Joshua Sherman and David Vaughn.

Tickets are $8 for general admission, $6 for all Wesleyan faculty and staff, and $4 for all students with ID. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday Sept. 27. The box office will be open Tuesdays to Fridays 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before curtain on show days. Seating is limited therefore reservations are highly recommended. For reservations please call 817-531-4211.
