Dr. Violeta Kadieva is originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She moved to the United States 12 years ago to earn a Psychology degree. She completed a B.S. in Psychology from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Then, she moved to Texas to get her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Kadieva has a strong background in teaching civility, ethics, diversity, marriage and family therapy practicum, grant writing and other MFT classes. Dr. Kadieva completed the Teaching Effectiveness and Career Enhancement (TEACH) Program at Texas Tech University, which was modeled after the national Preparing Future Faculty movement. Shortly after she completed this teaching fellowship, Dr. Kadieva was invited to help with training master and doctoral students in diverse teaching approaches as part of the Groundwork Program of the Teaching Learning and Professional Development Center at Texas Tech University. Dr. Kadieva areas of interest include parenting styles leading to academic and psychological entitlement; entitlement and its relationship with self-esteem, family structure, and family SES; ethical issues in the use of technology; online training and practice; MFT supervision.

Violeta has co-facilitated numerous national and international training workshops and has presented her research at local, state, national, and international conferences. Violeta has written articles for the Journal of Pedagogical Research and Scholarship in Wales and the National Philosophical Student Journal in Bulgaria. She loves traveling, reading books, listening to music, dancing, cooking, going for long walks with her dog, and spending time with her husband. She is extremely grateful and excited to be a part of the Texas Wesleyan community.
