Elliott Connie

Elliott is a LicePortrait of Elliott Conniensed Professional Counselor, global speaker and presenter on solution-focused therapy. He has a private practice in Keller, Texas and is a Texas Wesleyan University alumni from the Graduate Counseling Program. He is the co-author of the 2009 book, The Art of Solution Focused Therapy, written with Dr. Linda Metcalf. His second book, Solution Building in Couples Therapy, was released in 2012 and his third book, The Solution Focused Marriage: 5 Simple Habits That Will Bring Out the Best in Your Relationship, was released in 2013 and was written as a guide for couples. His most recent co-authored book, Using Solution Focused Brief Therapy with Clients Managing Trauma, was released in 2018. 

Elliot also dives into topics in a variety of media, including podcasts, blogs and vlogs. He co-hosts "The Details with Elliott and Adam" podcast with Adam Froerer that examines the intersection between Solution Focused Brief Therapy and current topics going on in the world, He also hosts a casual vlog called "Solutions Every Day" where he discusses current topics and sources of inspiration and wisdom.

Dr. Bethany Suppes '19, Ph.D, LMFT

Bethany Suppes, Ph.D., LMFT finished her doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan in 2019. Since then, she published her dissertation as an article in the Journal of Feminist Family Therapy ("Using self-compassion to influence romantic relationship satisfaction: A case study of women") and recently published "Family Systems Theory Simplified," a textbook that covers the core theory differentiating MFTs from other counseling methods. Dr. Suppes has also presented at numerous state-level conferences and multiple university guest lectureships, covering topics like professional ethics, supervision, internal family systems therapy, self-care and self-compassion. She is an active member of the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, including membership in the Ethics, Scholarship and Awards Committee. She has previously served as the clinical director for the COAMFTE-accredited MFT program at Whitworth University, where she also served as an assistant professor. Currently, she is a private practitioner in Spokane, Washington where she enjoys treating teens, adults, couples and families in addition to providing LMFT-Associate supervision and potentially teaching as an adjunct at Whitworth University. She is an avid supporter of self-care in a hectic world and talks about this with her students, clients and interns. Her favorite self-care activities are spending time with her cats, re-reading her favorite novels and admiring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
