The end of the term is a busy time for faculty. Here are some frequently asked questions you might find helpful regarding the Commencement Ceremony.
Faculty are required to confirm attendance to the Commencement ceremony with the dean's admin in each prospective school. Tickets are not required for faculty members.
Full-time faculty members are expected to attend official academic University functions such as convocation and graduation. Please refer to 5.1.2 of the Faculty Handbook.
All academic regalia should be worn to the Commencement ceremony, including mortar boards and tams. A limited supply of academic regalia is available for loan in the Office of the Provost. Please contact Amber Tejeda, director of academic operations, for more information.
Faculty members are asked to arrive at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Please be advised that parking fills quickly.
When faculty members arrive at the SBTS campus they should go to the MacGorman Chapel and enter through the "Faculty Entrance" door located on the East side of the building. There will be a sign leading you to the entrance as well as student volunteers.
Faculty will lineup in the Choir Room.
Unfortunately, there is not reserved parking for faculty members. There are two parking lots located directly behind the chapel and the Riley Center that are available for faculty parking. Parking passes are not required.
