Did you know that it is the 150th anniversary of Sweethearts valentine's candy?

According to NECCO, the manufacturer of Sweethearts brand of conversation hearts, they manufacture about 2 billion hearts each year for Valentine's Day. "Be Mine," "Be True" and "Kiss Me" were some of the original sayings on Sweathearts. In the early 1990's, they began updating their sayings each year. Sayings such as "E-mail Me" were added to become current with the times.

In honor of the 150th anniversary, come by the Academic Success Center to take a guess at how many conversation hearts are in the jar. The closest guess will win the jar of conversation hearts and a Valentine goodie bag.

The contest runs through February 11.
