Academic Advising is here to help you develop and grow as an advisor. This is a new professional development program designed specifically for Texas Wesleyan faculty Advisors. We will share techniques used by our advising resources, how to use campus resources and advising updates on campus.
How Can Faculty Advisors Help?
If you are new to advising at Wesleyan, this is a great way to get more experience advising students. Academic Advising will provide advising guides and “First Year Plans” for each major, making advising freshmen a wonderful learning opportunity for new faculty advisors.
Stacy L. Dissinger, assistant director of academic advising, will facilitate several Advising 101 Sessions in the coming weeks. A new topic will be discussed in each session. These sessions are not only for new advisors but are great for any faculty who want a refresher in GEC requirements, deciphering the degree audit and understanding the Academic advising process.
