English seniors highlight writing success
Five English seniors enrolled in ENG 4340 Senior Seminar presented their theses or creative works to the public on Friday, Dec. 3 in Lou's Pavilion.
During their senior years, English majors are required to complete a critical thesis concentrating on a particular idea, reading, writer, concept or theory. Students can also opt to write their own creative work.
The final products, which are assessed by English program faculty, are presented prior to graduation. The following students summarized their work and fielded audience questions:
- Angela Castillo: “Las Chicas del Estomago Sensitivo”
- Kirsten Clarke: “Representation*: Asterisk Necessary”
- Harris Matthews: “Classic and Contemporary Literary Characters Seen through the Lens of Autism, and the Importance of Neurodivergent Representation”
- Elaina (Audette) Wells: Creative Writing: “Twisted Fairy Tales”
- Ashli Young: Creative Writing: “The Throne of Osiris”
Congratulations to these five excellent young writers!
