Held on Zoom, 51 students, faculty and friends from regional universities participated in the North Central Regional Phi Alpha Conference hosted by the Texas Wesleyan history program on March 27, 2021. The day-long conference had six paper sessions with a total of sixteen presentations from both graduate and undergraduate history students.
Dr. Jacob Blosser, President of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society, attended and spoke on the importance of studying the past as a means of critical engagement at this important moment in our nation's history. At the end of the day, three awards were given out for best papers.
Student presentation of research is an important part of professional career preparation in the history program. By participating, students practice the skills of effective delivery as well as responding to questions. Sessions were moderated by faculty members from Texas Wesleyan, Midwestern State and Texas Women's universities.
