On Saturday, February 24, the Texas Wesleyan History program hosted student scholars from seven universities across North Texas and Oklahoma at the 7th Annual MEMNTO (Medievalists and Early Modernists of North Texas and Oklahoma) for a conference.  They were joined by faculty from across the region, who served as session moderators.

Students presented their research on such varied topics as feminism, literature, war, art, and politics at the day-long event.  A lunch keynote was delivered by Dr. Kyle C. Lincoln entitled "'Afterward He Was Send to Palencia' Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying (About the Idea of Law School) and Love Research."  It was an inspirational talk about the author's own journey as an undergraduate and his growing love of the investigative process of historical research.

Six Texas Wesleyan students presented research on topics including the Crusades, medieval society, democracy, and Renaissance art. 

The conference was organized by both Dr. Alistair Maeer, Assistant Professor of History, and Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch of Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  It was generously funded by Texas Wesleyan's School of Arts Sciences.
