Dr. Sameer Vaidya, Associate Professor and Associate Dean in the School of Business, was awarded the Best Paper Award for the American Society for Competitiveness’ (ASC) 26th Annual Conference. The conference’s theme for 2015 is Competitiveness: The Next Decade; Dr. Vaidya’s paper is titled Impact of Organizational Culture on Trust and Commitment in International Joint Ventures (IJVs): An Empirical Investigation.
Dr. Vaidya’s study focused on the importance of understanding the relationship between the different types of organizational cultures and trust and commitment. The article proposed differences in trust and commitment levels in IJVs based on the type of organizational culture. The study showed that trust and commitment differ by organizational culture types and that IJVs partners with market oriented and flexible cultures tend to exhibit higher levels of trust and commitment with respect to their partners.
