About Professor Song

After completing his Ph.D. at The State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Song joined Wesleyan as Assistant Professor of Management in the fall of 2018.

Dr. Song was born and raised in South Korea where he started his career in logistics for Nike Sports Korea. After transitioning to America, he lived in San Diego, California and worked in insurance and restaurant management before making his way to Buffalo, New York in pursuance of his M.B.A and Ph.D.

Now, teaching for Wesleyan’s School of Business he wants to share his experiences to help guide his students while also remembering what is important.

“The important thing is making the class fun and interesting. That’s the most effective way to involve and engage students in class. That is my philosophy.”

Besides teaching, Dr. Song is active in academic research. His research interest is in Healthcare Operations.  Currently, Dr. Song is studying service quality and operational efficiency of hospitals.
