At the December commencement ceremony President Slabach presented Dr. Trisha Anderson, assistant professor of management, with the Exemplary Teaching Award.
The Exemplary Teaching Award is a coveted annual award given to a Wesleyan faculty member who displays quality in the areas of teaching, scholarship, community and University service and personal integrity. The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry is pleased to be the vehicle for expressing this appreciation on behalf of The United Methodist Church.
This program expresses the church’s support of and appreciation for faculty who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, excellence in teaching, service to students and commitment to education. Professors are presented an appreciation certificate and a cash award.
Dr. Anderson joined the faculty at Texas Wesleyan University in 2009. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degree from Marist College and a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Dr. Anderson is dedicated to exploring innovative ways to enrich the teaching of students on a continual basis. She creates an interactive learning environment that will further the intuitions behind theories through class field trips to corporations, integrating technology, real-life projects and in-class hands-on activities.
In addition to her classroom activities, Dr. Anderson has engaged in professional development activities and is an active scholar. Since 2010, she has published numerous articles in noteworthy publications.
