Robing and Hooding

A Texas Wesleyan tradition since 1927

The Robing and Hooding Ceremony is an additional hour-long ceremony that celebrates the relationship between faculty and graduate. Honor the professor that has had a significant impact on your time at Wesleyan by allowing him or her to robe or hood you. The ceremony takes place on campus the day before graduation.

During this ceremony, undergraduate students are robed while graduate and doctoral students are hooded, each by their chosen professor.
