Ida A. Joiner, a TXWES doctoral student, was interviewed on the Drone Radio Show podcast for her expertise on how drones are being used in libraries now, and how they may be used in the future.
“We’re going to see drones being used to deliver books to hard-to-reach areas and to people who are elderly or have some kind of disability where they can’t physically go to the library,” Joiner said on the podcast. “We’re going to see drones delivering books and other library materials to people all over the world.” Joiner has published several articles and a book chapter about drones in her book, Emerging Library Technologies: It’s Not Just for Geeks. She plans to write her doctoral dissertation on drones in education. Joiner also has a proposal out for peer review for a book about drones in libraries.
