The University College Day committee is thrilled to announce leading psychotherapist and author Elliott Connie as the keynote speaker for the 2021 UCD. He will present virtually and take part in a Q&A session at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21.
Elliott is a Licensed Professional Counselor, global speaker and presenter on solution focused therapy. He has a private practice in Keller, Texas and is a Texas Wesleyan University alumni from the Graduate Counseling Program. He is the co-author of the 2009 book, The Art of Solution Focused Therapy, written with Dr. Linda Metcalf. His second book, Solution Building in Couples Therapy, was released in 2012 and his third book, The Solution Focused Marriage: 5 Simple Habits That Will Bring Out the Best in Your Relationship, was released in 2013 and was written as a guide for couples. His most recent co-authored book, Using Solution Focused Brief Therapy with Clients Managing Trauma, was released in 2018.
Elliot also dives into topics in a variety of media, including podcasts, blogs and vlogs. He co-hosts "The Details with Elliott and Adam" podcast with Adam Froerer that examines the intersection between Solution Focused Brief Therapy and current topics going on in the world, and does a casual vlog called "Solutions Every Day" where he discusses current topics and sources of inspiration and wisdom.
Elliott has done workshops using solution-focused therapy with clients experiencing racial trauma and will use his expertise to present "Hope for Humanity During Times of Social Unrest" during his keynote. He is known for his charismatic presentations that leave audiences inspired, providing hope needed in a time of uncertainty.
