The permanent collection of Texas Wesleyan University is small but diverse. American, European, early Texas, former faculty and student artists are represented within the collection which has developed over the years primarily through donations.

Currently, artworks belonging to Texas Wesleyan are on display in various offices and public spaces across campus or safely stored in the Special Collections & University Archives.

The exhibit will feature pieces in the university permanent art collection that were created by the Fort Worth Circle artists as well as artists who they studied under. Drawn together by a shared interest in art, dance, music, theater, and myth, the artists of the Fort Worth Circle sought new avenues of artistic expression to counter the prevailing preference for regionalism and other more conservative artistic styles. They also shared a fascination for the fantastic, often employing dreamlike imagery.

Showing art from the mentors of the Fort Worth Circle alongside their protégés will give visitors a firsthand look at how instruction and mentorship influenced the members of the Fort Worth Circle as they created a style all their own.

The Wesleyan Wine Walk is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25. Attendees will get the chance to sample wine and food pairings across campus and get a taste of what TXWES is all about. There are a limited number of spots available for the Wesleyan Wine Walk so get a group of classmates together to uncork and unwind during reunion weekend!
