The artists are coming, the artists are coming!
Question: What does a fantasy forest, Southern Gothic, lots of clay, abstraction and nature, African nkisi, and thousands of 5x7 cards called HOPE have in common?
Answer: They will all be themes addressed in the upcoming 2018-19 exhibition season in Bernice Coulter Templeton Art Studio & Gallery.
The promise of each exhibit is that it will bring you joy, stimulate your imagination, and challenge your concepts and definitions of art. This year's exhibition season was chosen from a long list of exciting proposals received by the Exhibition Committee. We are pleased to announce that the following artists will be showing in the gallery in the upcoming academic year.
- Molly Dierks: Aug. 20 - Sept. 13
- Sara Cardona: Oct. 1 - Oct. 25
- Texas Pottery & Sculpture Guild juried show: Nov. 5 - Dec. 8
- Lee Hill: Jan. 14 - Feb. 7
- Rebecca Boatman: Feb. 25 - March 28
- Martin Brief: April 8 - May 2
All these exhibits will offer opportunities for Texas Wesleyan professors to utilize the art as an additional educational tool to enhance their students' education. The TXWES family and the public will have the chance to meet the artists at receptions as well as artist lectures. Dates and times will be announced.
