Texas Wesleyan student and esports athlete Jacob Chesney was among the thousands of fans to get a first look at Arlington’s brand new esports stadium. He discussed how important the new venue is to the growing competitive video gaming industry.
"When you have something that’s set aside specifically for esports, I think that’s the kind of legitimacy this sort of thing needs,” Chesney told Fox 4.
The Texas Wesleyan Esports & Gaming Program focuses on three areas: Competition, Creation, and Community. Competition involves our teams for League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Smash Bros, and Madden. Creation is the home of our content creation teams putting out media through Twitch and YouTube. Community is our social media and event management arm. For more information on the program, please reach out to executive director of esports & recreation Eugene Frier at ejfrier@txwes.edu or visit txwes.edu/esports.
