To honor Flowers for years to come, his image will be painted onto the hallway mural in the GPNA building.

Kenneth Flowers, media and classroom support technologist, was honored on Feb. 6 with the Outstanding Student Support Award by the GPNA faculty and students. 

Flowers works with GPNA students and faculty to make sure that their technology works when they need it. This is especially important as GPNA uses live video to conference with their 58 clinical sites in nine states. 

“Ken goes well beyond his job title and embraces the quality of service that I admire,” Gerry Nichols, manager of media and classroom support, said. “Students regularly ask him to robe them at the Robing Ceremony. He is not eligible to robe anyone, since he is not a professor, but this is an indication of his impact on GPNA as one of the most influential person the students have met here.”

Among other things, Flowers sets up the calls, connects the sites, records the classes and posts them, and controls the cameras and the sound.

“Ken exudes an aura of confidence and when he goes in front of the camera, everyone from North Dakota to Louisiana, from California to Alabama, they all listen to him,” Tito D. Tubog DNAP, CRNA, interim GRNA program director, and associate professor, said.
