Donna S. Nance, vice president for finance & administration, announced Angela Dampeer MBA, SPHR, SHMR-SCP, will join the University as associate vice president for human resources. Dampeer began her role before the start of the Fall 2016 semester.
Dampeer most recently served as chief human resources officer for College of the Mainland, located in Texas City, Texas. In her role, she was closely involved with the formation of policy and strategic planning initiatives. She brings more than 15 years of human resources experience to her role, working as both a consultant and an administrator.
“Angela is an expert in the human resources field with years of experience in higher education,” Nance said. “Her leadership and focus on empowering employees will allow Texas Wesleyan to continue to live up to its ‘Smaller. Smarter.’ promise for our faculty, students and staff.”
Dampeer holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and is a doctoral student at Texas Tech University in Higher Education Administration program. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources who also holds many HR, online learning and alternative dispute resolution certifications. In addition to her work in human resources, she is a former president of the Texas Association of Community Colleges Human Resources Professionals and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
