Eunice and James L. West LibraryJoin West Library in celebrating National Library Week starting April 8 - 11, 2019. National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. This year’s theme, Libraries = Strong Communities, illustrates how today’s libraries are at the heart of our cities, towns, schools and campuses, providing critical resources, programs and expertise.
- Monday, April 8: Stop by the library to view the display of this year’s most banned and challenged books.
- Tuesday, April 9: Come get your Fort Worth Library card during free period! Representatives from the Fort Worth library will be signing up users near the library’s front door.
- Wednesday, April 10: Celebrate National Library Workers Day by thanking library staff for all the work they do.
- Thursday, April 11: Finish up National Library week by visiting TXWES Makers Lab for an open house event. Learn about all of the available equipment and stop by the Take Action for Libraries table to help us advocate for libraries.
