Dennis Miles joined the Eunice & James L. West Library at Texas Wesleyan University as a new reference & instruction librarian. In his role, he provides reference assistance to students, faculty and staff, including finding resources, using databases and citing sources. He also assists the faculty in teaching the students how to do research by providing instruction sessions and workshops for students.
"Mr. Miles' creative work with Library Guides is just one of the many assets he brings to West Library," Elizabeth A. M. Howard, Director of Eunice & James L. West Library, said. "His long time experience in reference and willingness to go the extra mile to help our Students and Faculty has been evident from his first day."
Miles brings with him more than 27 years of reference & instruction experience. Prior to joining Texas Wesleyan, he worked as a reference and instruction librarian at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Miles obtained his bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. An avid researcher, he has published in journals and made presentations at various scholarly venues.
When not at work, Miles serves as a teacher in a local church and loves to read and travel.
