Join Eunice and James L. West Library for the last Mitchell-Reed Community of Learners lecture of the Fall 2016 semester. Nov. 1 at 12:15 in the Library Orientation room.
The Presenter is Dr. Chad Pevateaux and his topic is Re-Thinking Religion, Science, and Politics: How Mystical Eco-Ethics May Help Save the World (and Us).
Come hear Dr. Pevateaux discuss his research on the history of mysticism and the current "spiritual but not religious" movements. Philosophically, his work rethinks agency in relation to affectivity and in collaboration with an emergent cosmos to help us be more just in our inter-relationships with others--whether other humans, other nonhuman animals, ecosystems, religions or whatever may come.
Remember to Bring Your Own Lunch (BYOL). We will have refreshments provided by the Provosts office.
