Emil Santos is back for his final season as a Ram, and is looking to lead the team to its 12th national championship this spring.
Texas Wesleyan's 11-time national championship table tennis team is making another run for a national title.
In 2015, Texas Wesleyan battled Mississippi College in the TMS College Table Tennis National Championships finals. The score reached 2-2 and deuce in the fifth set of doubles, before Mississippi College went on to survive a championship point and win the final set 12-10, ending Texas Wesleyan's run of 11 consecutive titles in the event.
This year, the Rams are out to reclaim their No. 1 ranking against rivals at Mississippi College, and secure a 12th national title.
Tournament play begins in the Sid Richardson Center in January:
Jan. 30 – NCTTA Texas Divisional
Watch Texas Wesleyan take on divisional rivals like UT-Austin, UNT, Texas A&M and UT-Dallas live from the Sid Richardson Center. Winners will head to regionals.
Feb. 20-21 – NCTTA Regional
Top teams from the divisional tournaments will advance to regionals, again hosted by Texas Wesleyan in the Sid Richardson Center gym. Help the team give a Texas-sized welcome to competitors from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana. There will be 12 colleges and universities in town. Winners will advance to the national championships March 22-27 in Round Rock, Texas.
