Enrollment at Texas Wesleyan University is up 6 percent from the same time last year.
Total spring enrollment for 2015 is 2,472.
"We attribute our success in recruiting students to our high-quality faculty and staff, driven admissions team and the 'Smaller. Smarter.' marketing campaign," President Frederick G. Slabach said. "The secret about Texas Wesleyan is out, and we think the spring enrollment numbers are the beginning of a steady upward trend."
The University said that overall, applications are up 82 percent over last year.
For the fifth straight year, Texas Wesleyan has been ranked in the No. 1 tier of regional universities in the West by U.S. News & World Report.
Texas Wesleyan prides itself on intentionally small classrooms and high-quality, engaged educators. Under the leadership of President Slabach, the University has renewed its focus on developing critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills to prepare students for graduate school and professional careers.
Enrolling and retaining motivated undergraduate and graduate students is part of the University's 2020 Strategic Plan to give Texas Wesleyan a strong foundation for excellence.
In addition to improving the student experience, the goals of the strategic plan include academic distinction, campus enhancements, advancing financial vitality and marketing and branding initiatives to improve the University's visibility.
